Description

Renaxen 5 mg (Axitinib INN)

Targeted VEGFR Inhibitor for Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma

🔹 Short Description

Renaxen® 5 mg contains Axitinib INN, a potent oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that selectively blocks vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3). It is indicated for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and helps inhibit tumor angiogenesis, thereby slowing tumor growth and disease progression.

💊 Pharmacology

Axitinib is a highly selective inhibitor of VEGF receptors (VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3). By blocking these receptors, Renaxen® effectively inhibits angiogenesis—the process by which tumors develop new blood vessels to sustain their growth.

Renaxen® works by:

  • Inhibiting VEGF-mediated angiogenesis
  • Restricting blood supply to tumors
  • Slowing tumor growth and metastasis
  • Improving progression-free survival in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma

Its targeted mechanism offers effective treatment while minimizing damage to healthy tissues.

📌 Indications

Renaxen® 5 mg is indicated for:

  • Treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) after failure of one prior systemic therapy.
  • First-line treatment of advanced RCC in combination with approved immunotherapy, where clinically appropriate.
  • Other indications as recommended by current oncology treatment guidelines.

Treatment should always be initiated and supervised by an experienced oncologist.

💉 Dosage & Administration

  • Recommended starting dose: 5 mg orally twice daily.
  • Tablets may be taken with or without food.
  • Swallow tablets whole with water.
  • Dose adjustments may be required depending on individual tolerability and adverse reactions.
  • Continue treatment until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.

Patients should follow their physician's instructions carefully.
