Targeted ALK Inhibitor for Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
📌 Indications:
Cerixen® 150 mg is indicated for:
- ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
- Patients with disease progression following crizotinib treatment
- First-line treatment of ALK-positive advanced NSCLC
💊 Pharmacology:
Ceritinib is a highly selective ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It blocks the activity of ALK fusion proteins responsible for uncontrolled cell growth and proliferation. By inhibiting ALK signaling pathways, Cerixen® suppresses tumor progression and induces cancer cell death.
💉 Dosage & Administration:
- Recommended dose: 450 mg once daily with food (three 150 mg capsules).
- Continue treatment until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.
- Dose modifications may be necessary based on adverse reactions.
- Use under the supervision of an experienced oncologist.
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings:
- Monitor liver function tests regularly.
- Use caution in patients with interstitial lung disease or pneumonitis.
- Monitor blood glucose levels in diabetic patients.
- QT interval prolongation and bradycardia may occur.
- Gastrointestinal toxicity is common and should be managed appropriately.
❌ Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to Ceritinib or any component of the formulation.

- May cause fetal harm when administered during pregnancy.
- Effective contraception is recommended during treatment.
- Breastfeeding should be discontinued during therapy and for at least two weeks after the last dose.
